The Boston Celtics might have waived the white flag a bit too soon! After stealing a Game 7 win against the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round, Jayson Tatum and Co. were favored for the title, until things went haywire. Following two disappointing losses at home, Jimmy Butler and the Heat gave the Celtics fans more reasons to be frustrated. However, this time it was an embarrassment. Following an unacceptable performance and a blowout loss, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson did not hold back on the Celtics.?

The 63-year-old blasted Jayson Tatum’s side with some harsh words on Twitter. No team has recovered from a 0-3 deficit in postseason history, and it looks like Johnson doesn’t believe the Celtics can turn things around as well.

It’s a heartbreaking loss for the Celtics and its fans. As mentioned by the 5-time NBA champion, the Celtics “quit” halfway through the game. The Miami Heat took full advantage of the Celtics at home as they stand just one win away from sweeping them. Jayson Tatum, with 14 points, shot a poor 6 out of 18 from the field. 2-time All-Star Jaylen Brown, on the other hand, went 0 out of 7 from the three-point line. Magic Johnson couldn’t come to terms with this performance by Boston.?

The Celtics were 2 wins away from their 18th title last year, however, the Golden State Warriors snatched it away. Understandably, the team did not make any changes to their core. The only impactful addition was Malcolm Brogdon, who won the Sixth Man of the Year. However, Magic Johnson believes “It’s time for the Boston Celtics to make major changes.”

All things considered in this series, it is highly probable that the Celtics might get swept in Game 4. A possible Conference Finals sweep will lead to a lot of changes to the team this summer.
