The Memphis Grizzlies were leading the game with a score of? 76-62. Despite the sizable lead, James managed to reduce it in the third quarter with back-to-back baskets. LeBron shot a midrange turnaround shot over the Memphis Grizzlies player, which led to them having it out on the court. A timeout was called. However, it didn’t put an end to their altercation.

James allegedly called Brooks “dumb” for receiving his fourth foul, further escalating an already tense scenario. Both players refused to back down as they proceeded to exchange words and stares on the court. After the game, Brooks continued to berate LeBron viciously in the post-game interview. In his interview, Brooks was asked about his on-court altercation with Lebron. His response slammed Lebron down.

He said, ?I don?t care ? he?s old.” He continued, “But I poke bears. I don?t respect no one until they come and give me 40.? The Memphis Grizzlies guard also maintained that he doesn’t respect anyone until they give him 40 points even though James finished the game with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Brooks claimed that guarding a Miami Heat or a Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron would have been a “Harder task” for him. According to Brooks, LeBron was a much more challenging opponent back in his prime and now that he’s “old”, it isn’t that big of a task to guard him. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound!
