Golden State Warriors star Andrew Wiggins has been under the limelight for quite some time now for reasons he has yet to reveal or confirm. The 28-year-old forward has not taken part in a single Warriors game since mid-February which has raised several suspicions among the NBA world. This prompted fans to draw assumptions about the reasons behind Wiggins’ absence. In response to the widely spread rumors, one of Wiggins’ Warriors teammates has now come forth in his defense in an attempt to shut down the gossip. However, fans weren’t pleased with the defense.

Golden State Warriors star comes to the rescue

Days after Andrew Wiggins‘ ‘disappearance’, a shocking rumor began circulating through the internet that spread like wildfire. Due to the continued silence from the 28-year-old, the speculation only got stronger with each passing minute. While the reports are yet to be confirmed, several fans believed that Wiggins’ ‘family issue’ had something to do with his girlfriend Mychal Johnson. Apparently, the 2022 All-Star discovered that Johnson was cheating on him with his best friend.

As the rumors began getting stronger, fellow Warriors player Draymond Green decided to fire back at fans for making baseless assumptions. In a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, the 4x NBA All-Star couldn’t contain his frustration as he called out certain people for being ‘ridiculous’.

Draymond Green said, “The fact that a rumor about Andrew Wiggins…I don’t know if it’s true. I’m not here to confirm whether it’s true or not. I really don’t care, like it ain’t got nothing to do with me. You hear stuff like that and you care for like him and her, like and their children. So I care from that perspective. But whether what y’all said is true or not has no bearing on my life, nor does it have any bearing on your life.”

“Y’all are so thirsty to know what’s going on in someone’s life that that becomes the thing? He better have some cold hard evidence if you’re gonna make that a thing. And quite frankly, I’ve just seen people talking.”

Following Draymond Green’s small outburst, Twitterati were quick to respond to the 4x NBA champion with a few thoughts of their own.

Fans were also quick to point out that by neither confirming nor denying it, Green has basically given more weight to the rumor. Additionally, they also countered by saying that while they understand the need for privacy, they would still like to know the reason behind the absence of one of the players at this crucial time for the Western Conference team.

Interestingly, Green wasn’t the only individual to have commented on the Wiggins rumor. Several days ago, Wiggins’ girlfriend took to Twitter and dismissed the claims of her infidelity.
