Back in 2016, the mother talked to the media about Stephen Curry and his performances. While talking, Sonya opened her heart out as she disclosed what she really missed when raising her superstar children.

?I really didn?t have an opportunity to just be mom. It was kind of hard because I also had to be that support for them, the strength for them, I was the disciplinarian as well. So I kinda carried a lot of that, so that Dell could focus on his (Stephen) career.? Sonya Curry mentioned.

The mother?s words have some disappointment laced in them as she preferred to have a different demeanour towards her kids. The pressure of leading them to the NBA didn?t let her be just a mother.

She also spoke on recruitment days as she felt that whatever she put in the kids was not in the recruiters? interest. Implying that the personality and mindset of her children were not on the lookout, but only the skills.
