Durant’s comments about the contest were as follows: “Who else is in it, Mac McClung? That’s crazy they’re doing that. I think he’s been on a show, but what are we doing? Why don’t we have guys who are willing? It used to be sacred to be a part of All-Star Weekend.”

While Durant did not specifically name McClung in his comments, many fans felt that his words were directed toward the young player. Some fans accused Durant of being disrespectful. Many fans felt that Durant’s comments were disrespectful towards McClung and took to social media to express their disappointment. According to a Twitter post shared by 2cool2blog, fans commented a lot of stuff pointing out KD’s disrespectful comment, one of the fans commented, “And by the way… Superstars always participated?
