It is no secret that LeBron James is a huge Kendrick Lamar fan. Like every Lamar fan, LeBron has also been waiting for a long time for the release of a new album.

Now, Kendrick Lamar has announced the details of his new album release in a simple Tweet. He retweeted an old tweet that read, ‘Kendrick Lamar is officially retired’ and linked his website with the release information of his new album ‘Mr.Morale & the Big Steppers’.

Kendrick Lamar fans who have been waiting are hyped for the new release and are flooding his Twitter feed. 

This comes after a recent retweet by LeBron James, where LeBron was blown away by Kendrick Lamar’s verse in ‘Nostelagia’, a Pusha T collaboration. 

LeBron James has always been vocal about his friendship with Kendrick Lamar. And also about his fandom of Kendrick Lamar’s songs. He has tweeted multiple times of him listening to Lamar’s songs. Also, LeBron was the reason behind Lamar’s new album release in 2016.

So it begs the question was LeBron James the reason behind the Grammy award winner’s new album release?

LeBron James’ role in Kendrick Lamar’s new album

Chris Paul’s acquaintance with Kendrick Lamar introduced Lamar into LeBron James’ life. Then the friendship only grew from there.

In 2016, after Lamar’s performance at the Grammy, LeBron tweeted and asked to release some of the untitled tracks. Anthony Tiffith was the CEO of Top Dawg Entertainment.

And, it looked like Kendrick Lamar granted LeBron’s request and released a new album ‘Untitled Unmastered’ on Spotify. Anthony Tiffith also released a video saying that the fans should thank LeBron James for the release of the new album.

While it might just be a coincidence this time around, LeBron James and all the Kendrick Lamar fans would happy about the new announcement.

In 2017, LeBron James helped release Kendrick Lamar’s new album ‘Damn’. And Kendrick Lamar hadn’t released any new album till now.
