The massive success of the docuseries arguably led to the latest biopic Air, which follows the story of Nike’s pursuit of Jordan’s signature. Again, the movie was a huge hit, and it looks like the former President of the United States Donald Trump is a fan.

Hollywood superstar Ben Affleck directed and played a crucial role in the film Air: Courting A Legend with Matt Damon playing the protagonist. Also, stars like Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, and Chris Tucker played major roles in the critically successful movie.

Speech from Michael Jordan biopic inspires Donald Trump

Air: Courting A Legend was a big hit with a box office collection of around $87 million. Fans from all around the world loved Matt Damon’s depiction of Sonny Vaccaro, who was a major reason behind Nike securing a young Michael Jordan. Apparently, an important scene from the movie has inspired Donald Trump and his crew as well.

In the film, after Jordan finally agrees to meet Nike officials, Damon gives an important speech to the rookie, which convinces Jordan. Damon talks about what the future of MJ would look like and how Nike can help him get there. He also states that the Chicago Bulls legend will have many ups and downs during his career. During the speech, some of the many struggles Jordan had to face during his life were shown.

Damon-as-Vaccaro tells Jordan in the movie, “Everyone will be forgotten as soon as our time here is up, except for you. You’re going to be remembered forever because some things are eternal. And your story is gonna make us fight and never give up.”

Interestingly, Donald Trump’s account on Truth Social used the speech?from the movie with video clips of Trump’s highs and lows. Furthermore, Damon and Affleck’s production company reportedly denied giving consent to use the monologue for the Trump campaign.

The fans expressed their disgruntlement when the video clip was shared on Twitter. Many flooded the comment section and called out Donald Trump and his crew for using the speech. One fan commented, “Here is the question did he get Matt Damon?s permission to use his voice? If not that could be another problem for him or whoever thought this was a brilliant idea.
