Two heavyweights of the West, the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns locked horns with each other at American Airlines Center last night, with Kevin Durant and co. coming out victorious. However, there was something more to witness on Sunday than just the Suns increasing the gap between themselves and the chasing pack. Right before the game ended, Luka Doncic and Devin Booker rekindled their rivalry from last season’s playoffs, which resulted in Kyrie Irving confronting the Suns star.

Ahead of the game, all attention was on former teammates, Durant and Irving going up against each other for the first time since their trades. However, the talking point after the game involved the other stars of their teams. Booker’s antics not only elicited a reaction from Irving, but fans voiced their opinions on social media as well.

Devin Booker and Luka Doncic had to be held back by teammates

In the final seconds of the game, Doncic exchanged words with Booker after the Slovenian International missed a game-tying shot. The Mavs guard was unhappy with what Booker said to him after the miss, which led to Doncic confronting Booker. Teammates and the coaching staff had to get involved to separate the two and ease the tensions.

Irving was not pleased with the Suns guard’s antics and traded some words with Booker right after the altercation ended. It is unknown what they were talking about, but it appeared that the 8x All-Star?was trying to stand up for his teammate.

Irving and Doncic dropped 30 and 34 points respectively but failed to secure a victory for the Mavericks. On the other hand, Kevin Durant and Booker put on a show at the American Airlines Center. Durant finished the game with 37 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Booker had 36 points, 5 rebounds, and 10 assists.
