Few considered Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors as contenders last season. Even Curry and Klay Thompson felt they need another superstar to be contenders. And Steph showed his disappointment when the Warriors missed out on All-Star Ben Simmons. However, the rise of Jordan Poole and the performances of Andrew Wiggins strengthened them. The youngsters were one of the main reasons for the successful run of the Warriors. Poole had some big plays during the playoffs. Fans even dubbed him the third “Splash Bro” alongside Thompson and Curry.
However, the contracts of Wiggins and Poole had to be taken care of as they could be the future of the organization. Shockingly, Draymond Green had a violent altercation with Poole during camp. While many believed it was a scuffle at first, the leaked video changed the perspective of many. Green, whose contract was under negotiation came under huge backlash.

However, after an incident like this, it might not be possible revert back to how things were almost instantly. It will definitely take some time to patch things up and regain trust. If the Warriors can do that, they could successfully defend their title.
