LeBron James has long maintained that he wishes to share the locker room with his son. His son, Bronny James, is 18 years old and has now committed to playing for USC as a college athlete. Although Bronny’s success has brought happiness to his father, his greatest wish remains that he gets to play for the same team as his son.

However, an NBA veteran recently talked about the big dream of King James. He presented statistics that could make the proud father a little sad. Although only time will tell what the future holds for the LA Lakers superstar, the recent comments by the veteran could possibly tarnish his hopes.

The 4x NBA champion has been very vocal about his wish to play alongside his son. Bronny could be the ideal heir to the King’s throne, going by the moves he is making and the star that he has become in his own right. Even at the age of 18, Bronny is attracting million-dollar deals and hitting the headlines with his presence. However, the long-standing dream of LeBron is still in doubt, as the young baller still has a long way to go before he reaches the NBA. Despite all that, the 38-year-old superstar remains adamant about his dream as he is about to enter his 21st season in the league.

Recently, 2x NBA champion and sports commentator Kenny Smith was on the BigBoyTV show. He talked about James’ retirement rumors and his dream of sharing the court with his son. Smith said, “STOP. Like no, his son is at USC.” Then he proceeded to present a statistic that is mind-boggling, to say the least. He said, “People forget, like, 75 years of basketball, Big. There’s only been 5100 players that touched a floor.” “To be waiting on your son to be one of those 5100, that doesn’t even make sense either,” Kenny continued. He added that “He’s not waiting on his son,” implying that LeBron knows how long it takes to become an NBA athlete.

The Jet said that even LeBron must be aware of this realistic angle to his dream but as a father, he is just hopeful.
