Players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant have some of the most lucrative salaries in the NBA. Earning more than $40 million a year, one would think that rarely any player would top their salaries. Well, LeBron James is one of the few who was paid more than the two above. However, one player managed to earn even more than The King despite only playing in 34 games this past season.
Bagging a big contract not only depends on the way you play on the court but also on how good one?s agent is. And having Rich Paul of the Klutch Sports Group as your representative surely went a long way for this five-time All-Star.

Ranked second on the list of the highest-paid players in the 2022-23 NBA season, John Wall cleared Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James in a heartbeat. Wall only came second to Stephen Curry, who was number one on the list.
While Stephen Curry was a well-deserved player to have the highest salary in the NBA, the same cannot be said for John Wall. Once the fastest player in the league, Wall was one of the best players in the NBA during his tenure with the Washington Wizards.
However, since then, the 6?4 point guard sustained multiple injuries that robbed him of his speed and athleticism. Wall and Bradley Beal put the Wizards back on the map since the old Gilbert Arenas days.
But eventually, the Wizards pulled the plug and traded Wall to the Houston Rockets in exchange for another All-Star caliber point guard in Russell Westbrook. While the Wizards barely stayed afloat, Wall?s tenure with the Rockets was full of controversies.
This led him to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers the following offseason.
How is John Wall earning so much?
One could not help but wonder how John Wall is making more money than some of the biggest names in the league. Let?s break it down. Wall put up career numbers back in the 2016-17 NBA season with the Washington Wizards.
This led the Wizards to give him a whopping four-year $171 million deal. The deal kicked in before the 2019-20 NBA season. By then he was traded to the Houston Rockets where he sat out the entire year due to injuries.

And the thing that is the most daunting is that Wall made that money being a free agent this year. After he was traded to the Rockets from the Clippers this past season, both Wall and the Houston front office agreed to a buyout within three days after his arrival.
Now, Wall being a restricted free agent this coming season, let?s see if any team picks him up. Moreover, it will be interesting to see what type of contract he will get now.
