Despite Owning Multiple iPhones, 5x NBA Champion Dennis Rodman Prefers Using Obsolete Technology for Privacy Reasons

Five-time NBA champ Dennis Rodman is one of the quirkiest personalities in the NBA. When he was playing, he had some crazy stories and even though he is retired; he is still often in the news. And recently, he revealed that privacy is the reason why he prefers obsolete tech to more recent innovations.

Rodman admitted that he carries around a flip phone and he said he never texts anyone. If he ever wants to talk to anyone, he would just call them up. He also confirmed that he doesn’t have a social media presence as well. And he really doesn’t care about texting people because he is already famous.

Dennis Rodman says he doesn’t carry around an iPhone because of privacy concerns

In an episode of the Full Send Podcast, Rodman talked about his flip phones and which phone is he gonna get next. He admits that he has the new iPhone, but he is also looking at other flip phones. And he said why he doesn’t like to carry around an iPhone.

Rodman said that he had heard from somebody that even if deletes any texts or emails from his iPhone, the authorities can still retrieve it. Because they have access to personal messages, camera roll etc. of the device. He also shared a story where he talked about how if you have clicked a picture, the company can use that photo and find out where you are. And one of the hosts also said that Instagram already has access to any photo that you click and it is already on the cloud.

That is why Rodman doesn’t use an iPhone even though he has those devices with him. He just keeps it for business and for his team, but he doesn’t actually uses them personally. Another reason why Rodman doesn’t use a smartphone is that he feels he is being watched by the FBI for his supposed ties with North Korea.

Rodman has traveled to North Korea in the past on multiple occasions and is supposedly friends with the Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un. And he said that the FBI is watching him constantly because they think they talk to each other on a daily basis.
