During his 19-year career, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has had beefs with a few stars. Most of them have been resolved by now, but there is one former Lakers star who Shaq never seems to have forgiven. Despite a decade-long feud, Shaq recently shared Dwight Howard’s insane debut performance in Taiwan.
When he came into the NBA with the Orlando Magic, Shaq earned himself the nickname ‘Superman’ for his freakish athleticism and arguably superhuman strength. In all its history, the NBA had never seen a player like Shaq before, and he carried the nickname well for years. That was until another came along.

Dwight Howard came into the NBA in the 2000s and started to make a name for himself. He also started calling himself ‘Superman’ and Shaq seemingly did not like that. This was just the start of a decade-long feud and the two still haven’t made it right with each other.

Even though the two stars haven’t reconciled, at least publicly, Shaq seemed to have been impressed with Howard’s latest game. Howard recently moved to Taiwan’s basketball league, and he made a spectacular start. In his debut game, Howard dropped an impressive 38 points, 25 points, 9 assists, and 4 blocks.
He was the catalyst for the Taoyuan Leopard’s comeback as he fired his teammates and fans to victory. They were ultimately able to secure the win in overtime, and Howard was clearly the player of the game. Notably, Shaq posted Howard’s performances on his Instagram story.

It’s not clear whether Shaquille O’Neal is willing to bury the feud or not. Shaq was clearly frustrated with Howard using his nickname, and he has hit out against Howard multiple times for it in the past. During Howard’s peak, Shaq blasted him for using his nickname and said that he needs to win something before calling himself that.

Even after Dwight Howard won his maiden NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, Shaq again went berserk and said that some players need to stop acting as if they were the reason they won the title. Furthermore, Howard has also fired back and mocked Shaq on multiple occasions. But for now, it seems that Shaq is at least impressed with Howard’s overseas debut performance and fans will have to wait and see what goes down in the future.
