Joel Embiid has been on a dream run for the last few seasons. The 29-year-old has shown consistent growth and has been pivotal in the progress of his team. The Philadelphia 76ers star’s grind didn’t go unnoticed by hoop fans and his peers. In fact, Draymond Green, impressed by Embiid’s skills and performances, once even called him a “bully”.
However, the “bully” tag is not the only praise that the Golden State Warriors star has sent Embiid’s way. He recently applauded the 6x NBA All-Star for his recent monumental feat on his podcast. Embiid also acknowledged his feat by saying that he “spoke it into existence”.

Recently the 2023 MVP was announced, and unsurprisingly for many, it was Joel Embiid of the 76ers. Although Embiid faced stiff competition from Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Both of the stars are already two-time winners of the coveted award, while for Embiid, it is his first. However, he has been in that conversation over the last few seasons.
Showing his graciousness, Green acknowledged and applauded the monumental feat of Embiid on The Draymond Green Show. Green said that he is “happy to see Joel get it”. Notably, the Warriors’ star complimented Embiid’s ability as a player weeks ago by calling him a “bully”.
Green had said that Embiid is so good on the court that he appears to be a bully. Now when the 76ers star’s hard work has been acknowledged with the MVP award, Green talked about him once again. He said that Embiid has expressed his desire to win the MVP ever since he joined the NBA. The 4x NBA champion said that Embiid has put the work in and has strived for the level he has reached today. Green added “I applaud that and I respect that,” while saying that Embiid speaking this into existence is what makes the award even more impressive.
Embiid’s quest to become the MVP is well-known among the hoop community. In fact, he announced his award way back in 2014.

An athlete’s mentality is what gives wings to their skillset. The 2023 MVP recently reminded people that this award may be new, but he saw it coming almost a decade ago. Embiid quoted his tweet from back in August of 2014 after the 2023 MVP was announced. In his 2014’s tweet, he wrote “MVP rankings in a couple years”, showing himself above the likes of LeBron James and the late great Kobe Bryant. Quoting that tweet, Embiid wrote yesterday “SPOKE IT INTO EXISTENCE.”
