NBA legend LeBron James has had one of the most decorated careers in the NBA. Basketball is not the only sport where he has excelled. Before his debut in the NBA, he was a football wide receiver. Moreover, he has tasted success in soccer as well by investing in Liverpool F.C.

Despite his excellence in multiple sports, James does not allow his two sons to participate in certain games. A report published a few years ago asserted that James only allows basketball, baseball, and soccer in his house.

Interestingly enough, despite his association with football, it seems he doesn’t like his sons to make a future in the NFL. Although he did not specify any particular reasons, there were reports about the health risk surrounding football which had parents reluctant about the sport.

His two sons, Bronny and Bryce have already dedicated themselves to basketball. Bronny is one of the hottest future prospects and is expected to participate in the 2024 NBA draft. On the other hand, Bryce is only 15 years old and he is around 6-foot-5 inches tall. The physicality will certainly help in the NBA!

A young LeBron James once chose football over basketball

An 18-year-old LeBron James made history when the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him as the #1 overall pick straight out of high school. While many are aware of his basketball prowess in high school, he was also a very good football player.

Interestingly enough, during an interview, while he was still in school, LeBron gave a surprising answer when asked about his interests in both sports. James said, “I just started playing sports when I was nine. Nothing like a football as much as a basketball.”

Playing for Cleveland’s St. Vincent-St.Mary’s, he recorded 27 touchdowns and over 1,900 yards in his high school career. Despite an interest in football, he turned his attention to basketball and became the next big thing. In his phenomenal 19 years in the league, James has won four NBA titles while also winning various individual accolades.
