Golden State Warriors stars Draymond Green and Jordan Poole were involved in a physical altercation in a training session a few days ago in which Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole in the face. However, the Warriors decided not to suspend Green and instead imposed a fine on him. Green is currently on a self-imposed hiatus away from the team. Poole, however, played in a few pre-season games for the Warriors already, before being rested against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr recently revealed that the franchise discussed and came up with the decision to fine Green for his conduct. The process also involved Green and Poole, who spoke to each other about the incident. Stephen Curry, according to Kerr, played a crucial role in these discussions.

Jordan Poole felt Draymond Green’s suspension wasn’t necessary

ESPN journalist Marc Spears revealed the Warriors’ dressing room’s feelings towards the veteran forward. Spears said that Poole, among other players, wasn’t comfortable with Green being suspended.

“Poole and Draymond spoke in front of the team a couple days ago and Poole didn’t think it was necessary that Draymond get a suspension,” Spears said.

“And with that in mind, with what Poole and the teammates thought, ownership and the front office decide that Green would not be suspended, that there would be an undisclosed fine,” Spears continued.

“But while Green hasn’t been suspended, he’s been away from the team for over a week now. So in a sense, you could maybe even look at that as a suspension, being away.”
