His mouthpiece, a not-so-traditional and probably weird for a memorabilia, was once sold in an auction as well. Surprisingly, it is not the weirdest Steph Curry memorabilia to be sold. Fans once bid thousands to get a piece of Curry‘s hair lint. Interestingly, it was sold by superstar rapper Drake, who has a net worth of $250 million. Drake was born and brought up in Canada and it is no secret that he is a huge Raptors fan. He often occupies courtside seats and interacts with the stars on the hardwood. And he also indulges in some trash-talking from time to time.

Stephen Curry and the Warriors missed out on a three-peat

The 2019 NBA Finals series is one of the most exciting in recent times. Stephen Curry and the Warriors had the chance to become the first team after the 2000-03 Los Angeles Lakers to make a three-peat. On the other hand, the Raptors made their first-ever trip to the Finals. Most thought the time-tested Warriors with their star power would be too much for the Raptors. However, the Raptors led by superstar Kawhi Leonard were no pushovers and they proved it in game 1 in Toronto.

During the game, Drake was courtside constantly engaging with the stars. During one such incident when Drake and Curry were seemingly trash-talking, Drake pulled out a hair lint from Curry’s hair. And he listed it on eBay as a joke. However, people started bidding. Shockingly, the bidding went over $86,000 at one point reportedly. But it is not clear whether it was sold.

This was one of few instances where the hip-hop superstar tried to get under the skin of Warriors players. Another instance was him wearing a Raptors jersey worn by Dell Curry during his time for the Raptors. As it turned out, his tricks worked, and the Raptors took game 1 with a scoreline of 118-109.

The injury issues of superstar Kevin Durant did not help the Warriors. The Raptors used the momentum of their game 1 win to eventually win their first-ever title without letting the series go to a game-7.
