Dennis Schroder is on the verge of leaving the Boston Celtics before the trade deadline. The league’s trade deadline is February 10 and the former Lakers star’s future remains unsettled. Schroder was already the talk of the town last summer after rejecting a massive contract offer from the Lakers. He makes the headlines yet again as the Celtics are reportedly interested in dealing with him this month.
28-year-old Dennis Schroder signed with the Celtics ahead of the 2021-22 season. However, his move to Boston became a big talking point of the summer, as he had rejected a huge $84 million offer from the Lakers earlier during the off-season. The Lakers’ offer to Schroder was the most they could have paid him legally.
However, Schroder and his agent decided to turn down the contract in hope of a better offer. But that didn’t go as planned for the German baller, and he had to settle with around $6 million from the Celtics. However, now the Celtics want to decide on his future before the trade deadline later this month.

Schroder has a one-year deal with the Celtics currently. He couldn’t wear the number 17 jersey due to it being retired by the Celtics in the honor of Joh Havlicek. Schroder wore the number 71 for the Celtics this season.
Schroder has played a total of 45 games for the Celtics, which just goes on to prove how important he has been to them. However, it appears that the Celtics don’t rate him as a long-term option. They will probably want to replace him with a quality player who can help them build for the future.
