In a documentary from the 90s, Sir Charles, the 76ers legend mentioned all about his two pillars. According to Barkley, his mother used to clean houses and his grandmother used to work at a meat factory, clocking overtime to support the family.?
However, his mother revealed that they weren?t the only ones working hard for the family as little Barkley used to sacrifice many weekends just to get on the team.?
?A lot of Saturday nights when the other boys would be out going to dances and things, Charles would be down on the basketball court,? said Charcey Glenn, the 76ers legend’s mother. She further added ?he would come home and would cry, he said ?mom I am good enough to play on the foster team if they would just give me chance””?
