The NBA finalists for the 2022-23 NBA season are set. It is the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets. While the finalist from the West was decided days before, the result for the Eastern Conference Finals took some time. After all, it was a game 7 between the Heat and the Boston Celtics. While everyone was hyped for game 7, the Celtics had a dismal outing which gave the Heat an easy 103-84 win. NBA legends Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal were quite vocal about the Celtics’ bad performance.

In fact, Barkley and Shaq termed the Celtics as ‘dumb***‘ owing to their poor performance. Interestingly, the Celtics are not the first team to face Chuck’s wrath.

The Boston Celtics are not the only team who have been harshly criticized by Barkley. The Minnesota Timberwolves is an old favorite of the 1993 NBA MVP. The Timberwolves took on the Los Angeles Lakers in the play-in game and blew huge leads to give the Lake Show the win.

This triggered Barkley who went on a rant on national TV. The Timberwolves had a 15-point lead going into the fourth quarter. However, they lost the lead in overtime and the Lakers went on to beat them.

“In the words of the great Mike Wilbon: That Minnesota team dumb,” said Barkley. Whether Mike Wilbon had really said that or not is up for question, however, it is certain that Barkley does not hold the Timberwolves team in high regard.

In a similar fashion, the Celtics faced his wrath. When the Celtics trailed during halftime, Barkley let it all out. “Watching these dumba** Celtics play is making my head hurt”, said Chuck. Despite making a brilliant comeback from 3-0 down, the Celtics gave away game 7 to the Miami Heat.

The Heat were confident of winning game 7

Although the Celtics had momentum over the Heat, it seemed like the team from South Beach had already won the game before it started. After all, they already had tickets booked for Denver! Thankfully, their ticket prices were saved as the Heat got the better of the Celtics with a 103-84 win.

Moreover, one of their biggest stars might come back to face the Denver Nuggets in the finals. It is none other than Tyler Herro, who injured himself right before the start of the NBA playoffs.
