The 2023 NBA playoffs have been a roller coaster ride for Stephen Curry, as the Golden State Warriors recently came back from a 2-0 deficit against the Kings, leveling the series 2-2. However, while his friends and family are riding on the same rollercoaster as him, they’ve recently taken a break to acknowledge the Baby-faced assassin’s achievements in front of the world. Recently, Curry’s mother, Sonya Curry, enjoyed her son’s achievements in the grandest way possible.
While her son was busy brainstorming a way to get past the Sacramento Kings, Sonya Curry decided to take a break with her family. The Curry family went on a one-day excursion to celebrate the Warriors’ no. 30’s journey in basketball.

A few weeks ago, Sonya Curry tried to dissolve the worries about her two son’s NBA playoff futures with a hint of nostalgia. She posted a cute picture of the Curry brothers in their pregame outfits, turning back time to the good ol’ days. However, it seems like Sonya has much more to attend to currently, as a brand new rendition of her son’s story is being presented to the world.
In just a few months, a special documentary covering Curry’s rise to fame will be released on Apple TV+, titled ‘Underrated’. It is quite the fitting title for the documentary on the Golden State Warriors superstar, who has been brushed aside as a supporting cast for a long time in his career. Nevertheless, the film had a special screening at Curry’s College, Davidson on April 24th.?
The entire Curry family, including Curry’s mother and grandmother, were present at the event. Sonya documented the on-campus screening event of Underrated, with a sneak peek of her family enjoying meeting old friends and peers from Steph’s time at Davidson. In her recent Instagram post, Sonya showed off her family at the event, including her grandmother meeting Curry’s basketball coach at Davidson, Bob McKillop.

Needless to say, the whole college was extremely excited about the screening. Around 450 tickets were made available for the students, and another 150 for the staff and faculty. If one had to guess, the passes would’ve been acquired by everyone as quickly as possible. According to a report from Forbes, the athletic director of Davidson, Chris Clunie, mentioned how the documentary was a “love letter” to the college.?
Meanwhile, other fans who weren’t lucky enough to be a part of the 600 people can watch the documentary on Apple+ TV on July 21. Additionally, die-hard Curry fans would be hoping to celebrate Curry’s fifth ring before the movie premiers on Apple’s streaming service.
