Days After Stephen Curry’s Playoff Exit, Teammate Draymond Green Takes Agreeable Stance on Ex-NBA Star’s Honesty about the Warriors: “Too Much Real Hoop”

Golden State Warriors tasted a disappointing exit from the playoffs, as Stephen Curry’s men fell short in the Conference semifinal. Following the defeat, a flurry of questions regarding the future of the Warriors’ ‘Big 3’ emerged. A former NBA star, however, went against the current and made a bold claim about the trio. In response to his take, the Dubs star Draymond Green lauded the star for his honest opinion.   

The Warriors trio Curry, Green, and Klay Thompson have delivered multiple championship rings for San Francisco and have established themselves as the ‘Big 3’ of the team. The Warriors trio’s first-ever series defeat outside the Finals, however, prompted many to question their future. Thompson’s poor shooting performance in the semifinal series added fuel to the fire, with many outright dismissing the relevance of the Warriors trident.

In a recent podcast episode of No Chill with Gilbert Arenas, the former NBA star, Gilbert Arenas addressed the rising doubts about the Warriors’ trio. He defended the three with their ability to win four rings compared to other highly lauded trios. He also claimed, “This big three can really challenge any other big three. They are the best big three ever.” 

Following the release of the episode, the Dubs star Draymond Green took to his Instagram story and shared the video along with a caption. The caption included, “You talking too much REAL hoop for these folks Gil. They can’t grab, they box score and see phantom numbers pop out.”

Notably, fans heard from Green on various platforms after the Dubs’ exit, as he joined in for chats during playoff games and shed light on his thoughts through his podcast.

Arenas also boldly made an opinion on Green’s contract situation with the Dubs. Additionally, there were multiple trade rumors about Green and Jordan Poole after the exit.

A few days ago, Arenas made a statement regarding DrayMagic’s contract situation on his show, Gil’s Arena. He considered the Dubs’ roster to be bleak and suggested the 4x NBA Champion opt out of the contract and resign again to increase the team’s purse value. The team’s head coach, Steve Kerr, in addition, also emphasized the importance of Green’s presence on the roster. As he said, “If Draymond’s not back, we’re not a championship contender.” After a disappointing defeat and rising doubts in the NBA world, will the Dubs hit back in the next season?
