A few days ago, 2-time NFL champion Deion Sanders was also subjected to criticism after he shared the words “spanking children” on his social media. Previously, Sanders was also under a lot of controversy for his take on parenting. However, Shaq seems to be on the same page as the NFL champion.

Shaquille O’Neal’s fourth ring with the Miami Heat was a special one for him. However, he couldn’t have done it without the 1992 DPOY Gary Payton, who also joined the show. Payton was as disciplined as Shaq on the court and gave it his all to win the 2006 championship against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite falling 0-2, the two legends showed their toughness to win four straight games later. Just where would they have got that from??

Well, from “tough” parenting, according to Gary Payton. He reflected on how his father helped him grow to be a better human and player. The 54-year-old shared, “You know my daddy, he was real tough on me, just like Shaq’s father was tough on him… We had tough parents and we just played basketball.”?

Further, Payton shared, “We’re really grateful too and what we want is these other kids to be the same way… I want them to be just like us, where they can stand up and talk to people.”

Shaq has always shown his nod of approval for the strict way of parenting. However, many felt he took it to the next level by supporting Deion Sander’s claims.?

The 55-year-old NFL legend?used single-mother parenting and dual parenting to explain his offensive and defensive lineups which stirred up quite a controversy. Many were left scratching their heads; however, Shaq was on the same page as Sanders. Shaq believes an offensive lineman or a player with a strict father would not make mistakes, while the ones with a single mother have a high possibility of making a mistake.
