The Los Angeles Lakers are a game away from finishing off the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round. But the Grizzlies had other plans as the team managed to stay alive and push the series to a Game 6. With the series now shifting back to LA, the Lakers will be hoping to close out the Grizzlies at home. Nonetheless, NBA legend Charles Barkley decided to go off on a Grizzlies star anyway ahead of the game.

The Memphis Grizzlies easily defeated the Los Angeles Lakers with a final score of 116-99. While LeBron James had an off night, one of his biggest detractors finally got one over him after all the trash talk. But the Grizzlies star still ended up getting slammed by the Chuckster.

Charles Barkley goes off on Dillon Brooks

The series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies has been quite interesting. And what makes it even more dramatic is the whole back-and-forth between LeBron James and Dillon Brooks. It got to such a point that Brooks even tried to seemingly injure LBJ.

Now, after Brooks had insulted and taken jabs at James multiple times on live television, Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley decided to give his two cents regarding the whole situation.

During the Inside the NBA show, in the middle of discussing the game plan, Barkley said, ?Brooks, you can?t talk all that noise and then play bad. You calling people old and the old man is kicking your a**. Let’s be honest about it.?

Brooks had recently made some comments on LeBron James and his age after their first win in the series. Unfortunately for him, James managed to lock into playoff made and lead his team to two consecutive wins.

While Barkley slammed Brooks for his antics ahead of the game, he also challenged the 27-year-old guard and Desmond Bane to step up in order to have any hopes of winning. And they did just that.

Game 5 of this series ended up becoming the deciding factor for the Memphis Grizzlies. Had the Grizzlies lost this game, it would?ve been the end of their playoff run this year. But Desmond Bane and Ja Morant kept their hopes alive.

Apart from their 30+ points performances, the Grizzlies did a great job on defense, contending almost every shot. The Memphis defense helped them keep the Lakers from shooting a high percentage from the field and beyond the arc.

While there may not have been a huge difference in the two team?s field goal percentages, the Grizzlies shot much better than the Lakers? 25.6% shooting from three. Now, the Grizzlies are a game away to even out the series and forcing a game 7 back in Memphis.
