Shaquille O’Neal’s outspoken nature is at the heart of his success as an NBA analyst. At times, the Los Angeles Lakers legend can get so candid that he does not even shy away from making a mockery of other players. Former NBA star Dwight Howard is one such baller who has been the butt of O’Neal’s jokes for a long time. It has not been only a few days since Shaq poked fun at Howard for the umpteenth time. Turns out, Howard has now turned fans’ heads because of another joke. Interestingly, it is not a joke about him, rather it is a joke he cracked.
Shaquille O’Neal has used every other opportunity to call out Dwight Howard for his stint with the T1 league team, Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan. However, this time Howard himself has brought in Taiwan to seemingly taunt the recently vanquished Phoenix Suns.

In an episode of Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast, he took a dig at Dwight Howard and his Taiwanese stint. Shaq explained why his legacy as a ballplayer is persistent than some other players and he said, “I got four championships. If I didn’t have no championships or rode the coattail of a guy who won one championship and then moved to Taiwan, then no.” Besides, the seven footer had recently said he saw memes of Dillon Brooks and Dwight Howard dominating the Taiwanese league. Despite his Taiwanese stint being a butt of crude jokes, Howard has now alluded to the Taiwanese league to seemingly poke fun at the Phoenix Suns.
After being swept by the Suns in 2021, the Denver Nuggets have now eliminated Phoenix at the same stage. Once again, Chris Paul’s pursuit for a ring has been shattered. So has Kevin Durant’s pursuit to end his ring drought. Apparently, Dwight Howard took to Twitter with a subtle mockery of the vanquished side. “Taiwan calling,” tweeted Howard, shortly after the Suns fell in Game 6.

Fans go berserk after seeing Dwight Howard’s tweet
Taiwan has become a recurrent humorous motif in NBA circles. When the future looks bleak for an NBA star, moving to Taiwan is regarded as the only possible solution. Now that the Playoff run has ended on a sad note for certain veterans from the Phoenix side, Dwight Howard has hinted that it is time for some of them to quit the NBA and join him in Taiwan.
