Anthony Edwards or simply Ant, as he is affectionally known around the world, is increasingly becoming one of the most popular players in the world. Not only is the Minnesota Timberwolves star one of the most exciting players in his position, but the 2020 1st overall pick is also developing into the all-round star everyone expected him to be. Now in his third year in the league, Ant is wiser and more experienced. However, he still hasn’t lost the bright smile he carried since the day he entered the league.

It seems Edwards is smiling all the time, whether it is on or off the court. During a recent podcast, his teammate Naz Reid sat down with the hosts and talked about his journey in the NBA so far. When asked about Edwards, Reid had nothing but good things to say about him.

It is quite difficult to hate Anthony Edwards. The NBA All-Star’s explosive game and overall good nature make him a fan favorite. Interestingly, it seems this is nothing extraordinary for Edwards. He is like that all the time!

During a recent episode of the Outta Pocket podcast, Naz Reid joined in to talk about his time in the league and many other things. The host brought up Edwards and asked Ried to talk about him as a teammate.

Reid said, “Ant man, he’s different. On and off the court, he’s him, no matter what situation he is. He is going to smile, he is going to impress you in so many different ways.”

Interestingly, the host also brought up the fan-favorite theory of Edwards being the next Michael Jordan. Considering how good Edwards is becoming as time passes, the theory might very well come true. Moreover, the two also look quite similar which adds fuel to the fan theory.

Praises poured in after Edwards’ All-Star game comments

The NBA regular season is 82 games long and this naturally takes a toll on the athletes’ bodies. For this reason, many stars around the league partake in ‘load management’ wherein they sit out less important games in order to rest their body.

Anthony Edwards is not a fan of that. During the All-Star game media session, the 21-year-old said, “I take pride in trying to play every game because there might be one fan who has never seen me play and I’m trying to play.”

Fans around the world praised the youngster for his maturity and for calling a spade a spade. Interestingly, even Charles Barkley delved into this issue and gave his honest thoughts. Much like Edwards, the NBA legend does not like the concept of load management.
