The Miami Heat made a mockery of the 1st seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Led by six-time All-Star Jimmy Butler, Miami not only won, but they did so while dominating every aspect of the game. Butler thoroughly outplayed every Bucks player on the court and pushed his team to a 4-1 series win. He backed up his trash talk against Giannis Antetokounmpo and co., so much so that he even reminded one Bucks star that he ‘owned’ him in the series. However, a resurfaced video of the same Milwaukee star has been doing the rounds online, which has left the NBA world in disbelief.
Bucks star Jrue Holiday had a hard time against Butler in Game 4 and Game 5 of the series. The six-time All-Star wreaked havoc on the court on those two nights and even said to Holiday, “I own you”?after a tough and-1 in the improbable comeback in Game 5.

Holiday made an appearance on the Point Forward?podcast last year and sat down for a chat with hosts Evan Turner and Andre Iguodala. A snippet of that episode has resurfaced on social media. In that snippet, Iguodala asked him, “When you done?”?The two-time All-Star responded, “It’s funny coz my wife had this conversation. I think it was two days ago. She was like, ‘Are you serious, after this contract, are you serious about retiring?’ I was like ‘Yes – I feel very strongly about it.'”?
Per the @pointforward podcast, Jrue Holiday plans to retire when his contract is up in 2 years.

Holiday signed a four-year contract extension in 2021 worth almost $134 million. He is currently under contract and would receive $72 million in the next two years. However, nothing is official till now, but even if the 2021 NBA champion decides to retire in 2025, then he would go down as one of the best defenders in NBA history.
Incidentally, the resurfaced clip drew reactions from fans.

Totally understand. I know he had that scare with his spouse’s health some years ago, so there’s no shame in calling it a career if that was a reason.

Him and his family have been through a lot off the court. If he wants to retire early, more power to him. He’s got a ring. Was an AS. He’s done it all.

However, the majority of them expressed that the 2021 NBA champion took this decision as he was annihilated by the Miami Heat forward. What’s interesting here was that they apparently misunderstood and didn’t acknowledge that the Milwaukee Bucks guard gave this interview almost a year back.
Here are some of those responses:

That’s what happens when u pay every player in the nba ridiculous contracts immediately upon entering the nba. Contracts should be based off team success or individual accomplishments. Signing a 3rd yr player to 100mil+ just because he’s a “superstar talent” shouldn’t be allowed
