$207 million NBA star, Trae Young recently called out the league officials by stating that they should be held more accountable for their mistakes, just like the players are, instead of getting a pass. Last night, he was ejected by the officials for a particular incident that took place in the third quarter of the game between the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers at the State Farm Arena. He was thriving on the floor last night but couldn’t continue to do so as his game ended prematurely. Meanwhile, this decision taken by the refs didn’t sit well with fans and they called out the officials on social media.

Trae Young has always been vocal about the treatment he receives from the officials. While many fans have called out the refs for their mistakes, some fans have also slammed Young for his tendency to create unnecessary contact in a bid to get to the free-throw line. The former McDonald’s All-American who somehow avoided ejection earlier this month didn’t get lucky this time.

In the third quarter of the game, when both Hawks and Pacers were tied on 84 points, Young didn’t agree with an offensive foul called on him. Therefore, to vent out his frustration, the Hawks guard started bouncing the ball and subsequently casually threw the ball toward a ref. This instantly made him receive a technical foul which eventually led to his ejection.

With this ejection, the two-time NBA All-Star has now received 15 technical fouls this season and is just a tech away from receiving a one-game suspension. Moreover, the 24-year-old sits in the second position in the most tech received by a player this season list, behind Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks.

Regardless of the ejection, the Hawks guard showcased his flair against the Pacers last night. He wrapped up the 143-130 win over the Pacers with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists. Another player who showed up last night was John Collins. Collins was the highest scorer for the Hawks last night as he finished the game with 21 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Hawks currently occupy the eighth place in the Eastern Conference. If the Hawks now miss Young at any point till the end of the regular season, their odds of making it into the playoffs will significantly decrease.

NBA Fans slammed the refs for their decision

Fans swarmed into the comment section of a video not long after it was shared on social media. Most of them were upset with the refs’ decision and vented their disappointment through their comments.

Here are some of the reactions of fans:

“refs are so soft this year Jesus”

“Bro NBA Refs are more softer than a newborn baby wtf”

One fan even questioned whether that really was an offensive foul.
