Ever since his trade to the Los Angeles Clippers, Russell Westbrook has been one of the better performers on the team. In addition to his crucial performances, it seems like Westbrook has started to receive a lot of love from the Clippers fans too. While his time with the Los Angeles Lakers had a different narrative, Russ has been able to focus on his game and embrace the love of fans.
Though the 9x All-Star revealed he doesn’t care about the past, the Lakers’ losing record before the Westbrook trade had a different effect on the 2017 MVP. Anyhow, Clippers fans’ eye-pleasing gesture toward Westbrook might have exposed the flawed nature of the Lakers fanbase.?

It’s been a long time since fans showed love to Russell Westbrook. After leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to start a new journey, Westbrook was not celebrated the same way by any franchise’s fanbase. However, his worst days were with the Los Angeles Lakers. Joining the LA unit ahead of the 2021-22 season, the 6’3 guard and the Lakers went on to have one of the worst seasons. In addition, a poor start to the 2022-23 season after the Lakers missed the playoffs triggered the Lakers fanbase.?
Subject to criticism for several months, the Lakers finally decided to trade the 2017 MVP to the Utah Jazz in February. However, Westbrook eventually ended up with the Clippers after Paul George wanted to join hands with his former teammate once more. Seems like Westbrook has benefitted due to the trade.?

In the absence of Paul George, who is recovering from an MCL injury, Kawhi Leonard and Westbrook continue to lead the Clippers. One game away from claiming a spot in the playoffs, Westbrook continues to receive love from the Clippers fan base for raising the bar in George’s absence.
Fans throw shade at Los Angeles Lakers
