Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has seemingly confirmed that he has no relationship with NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. During an interview, King James refused to give any thoughts on the 19-time All-Star.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has always been vocal regarding his thoughts on LeBron James. The NBA legend has often analyzed James’ every action and statement, providing his take on it. The duo has seemingly been in a conflicted relationship that started when Abdul-Jabbar first struck at LeBron for a meme. James had posted a meme related to COVID on his social media page. The meme indicated that COVID symptoms were similar to the flu or a common cold.

However, Abdul-Jabbar seemed to take James’ message in a not-so-good way. Abdul-Jabbar’s reasoning was that even after the media thoroughly informed everyone about the disease, James’ lack of information was a “blow to his worthy legacy”.

However, that was not all, Abdul-Jabbar also had issues with the four-time NBA champion’s celebration style. James once celebrated his three-pointer against the Indiana Pacers by pronouncing his groin area and this did not sit well with Abdul-Jabbar. The former Lakers legend felt that it was childish and disrespectful.

LeBron James avoids talking about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

After the Los Angeles Lakers pre-season game on October 3, 2022, a reporter caught up with LeBron James. The reporter asked James to give his thoughts on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and their relationship. Instead of talking about it, LeBron only gave a short answer.

“No thoughts, and no relationship,” said James.

The video of LeBron James’ short response was uploaded on Twitter. Evidently, fans of ‘The King’ came forth in support of their favorite player.

LeBron James currently has a points tally of 37,062, whereas, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar sits on the throne with 38,387. James only needs 1,325 points more to de-throne Abdul-Jabbar, and if he plays his cards right in his 20th season in the league, it will likely be a piece of cake for him. James admitted that it was humbling and “super cool” when asked about the possibility of him being the all-time highest scorer in the NBA.
