Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was one of those players who had the ball in his hand most of the time on the court. In short, he was a ball-dominant player. As a result of this, there was probably no way to stop him from scoring. Though it was certainly not an easy task, defenders had to try and stop him, anyway. In light of this, the Los Angeles Clippers star John Wall recently opened up on how he felt while guarding the five-time NBA champion for the first time.

In the latest episode of ‘Cold as Balls,‘ host Kevin Hart sat down with John Wall for a conversation. They discussed several intriguing topics that unveiled a lot of information about the Clippers’ point guard. However, among them, a few words regarding the Black Mamba grabbed the interest of the viewers.

John Wall remembers guarding Kobe Bryant

Amidst the discussions, Kevin Hart asked John Wall whether there was any moment where he had to stop and embrace the people he was playing against. Surprisingly, Wall didn’t even take a second to answer. The Los Angeles Clippers guard added that the player he embraced the most was Kobe Bryant. Moreover, added an interesting fact about the Los Angeles Lakers legend that literally mesmerized the comedian.

Wall said upon remembering his first matchup against Bryant, “Damn, I’m guarding the Mamba.” In addition to that, he also recalled a moment where he tried to run half-court to get the ball after blocking Byrant’s shot. However, Wall couldn’t manage it, and Bryant scored a three-pointer after getting the ball back.

Thereafter, Wall added that Bryant told him upon scoring:?“The play go on, young fella”.?

The five-time All-Star explained just how tough it was to guard the Black Mamba on the court. Interestingly though, in six regular-season meetings between the two across their careers, it is Wall who came out on top on four occasions. All six meetings took place between December 2010 and March 2016 when Wall was still a part of the Washington Wizards.
