Many in the hoops community wonder what Shaquille O’Neal‘s career would look like if he had taken good care of his physique. The seven-foot giant was never known for his disciplined dietary habits and workout regimen. The 51-year-old had stated previously that he has now been hitting the gym consistently to shed a few pounds. The NBA icon’s plans, however, did not deter Charles?Barkley from poking fun at Big Diesel once again.

While discussing the game between Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks and highlighting Jimmy Butler’s heroic performance, Barkley couldn’t resist throwing a jibe at his co-host, Shaquille O’Neal, mentioning the Lakers legend’s weight.

It is well-known that Shaquille O’Neal has been trying to get in shape for several months now. Moreover, the 4-time NBA champion stated that he has successfully lost over 30 pounds in the past few months. When Ernie Johnson asked Big Diesel how much he weighed, Shaq added, ” It’s 364 (pounds).”? Moreover, he had previously mentioned that his goal was to come down to 350 pounds.

In response to Shaq, Barkley gasped and replied, “Damn! Well, I guess you?re in shape. Round is a shape.” Chuckster couldn’t resist the opportunity to roast his former opponent and co-host. Earlier, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shaquille O’Neal expressed his desire to be more active and involved at the gym.

He jokingly added that he wanted to feature in underwear advertisements and wants to focus on getting lean and more muscular.

Shaquille O’Neal believes nutrition is key to a better physique

O’Neal admitted that he never took proper care of his nutrition earlier. Shaq said, He (his trainer) was saying you can?t do this, you can?t do that, more vegetables, my iron?s low. And once I just started changing those certain things, it (weight) dropped.? He added, ?Plus the supplements I?m taking, and the shakes I?m drinking, the weight just fell off. I?m not at 100 percent ninja mode yet. I?m still 75 percent.?
