Damian Lillard is one of the best guards in the NBA right now. With his impeccable shooting combined with elite ability to perform in the most intense moments of the game, Lillard truly has made his mark in the league.

While other superstars have opted to join super-teams, Lillard has stood out of the rest as he has stayed loyal to a small market team like the Portland Trail Blazers. Forming an incredible partnership with CJ McCollum, Dame has been essential in making Blazers one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

Damian Lillard reacts to Carmelo Anthony speaking about him

The NBA off-season has seen some big changes to teams’ rosters so far. Lillard and Co. certainly haven’t been an outlier in the same. After crashing out of the first round of the playoffs yet again, Portland made a huge change as they changed their head coach Terry Stotts for Chauncey Billups.

They also have been unable to retain some of their key rotational pieces. One important player they lost out on in the off-season was Carmelo Anthony. Melo who played his last two seasons with Portland had emerged as a spark plug off of the bench and was an incredible shooter for the team.

Joining the Lakers, the veteran forward recently spoke about his dynamic with Damian Lillard in All the Smoke podcast. Melo said, “Dame is a real one. He was always like we know you can play, I know you can play, I talk to you.”

The 37-year-old added, “Dame will always go down as one of my top dawgs, forget basketball, as a human being it doesn’t get better than that” Lillard also reacted to the comments Melo made. In a recent tweet, ‘Dame Dolla‘ had a single word to describe Melo’s comments.

The duo certainly had a memorable time in the Blazers. While many counted out the veteran forward, it was Lillard and Co. who took a chance on former Knicks’ superstar. But with Carmelo Anthony out of the lineup, the Blazers’ offense looks depleted.

With a team which hasn’t made any major moves in comparison to title contenders like Lakers, Lillard might still look for a move away from Portland. Is it finally time for Lillard to leave the Blazers?
