The Cavs had lost their previous game in a heated match-up against the Memphis Grizzlies by one point. Even with Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarett Allen on the team, the Cavs couldn’t get past both the Grizzlies and the Warriors without Mitchell. Furthermore, fans were shocked to know that the Warriors, without their three main stars, beat the Cavs in a road game.?

The Warriors have one of the worst away records of 6-18 this season. With their three main starters, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green out, fans did not have many hopes for the team before the game. However, Jordan Poole, along with Ty Jerome and Donte DiVincenzo, arguably outperformed the entire Cavs roster.?

Jordan Poole scored a game-winning 32 points, along with Ty Jerome’s 22 points and 8 rebounds. Donte DiVincenzo assisted the team with a crucial 17-point game. Jordan Poole is having a great season, averaging 21.1 points and 4.4 assists so far off the bench. The young guard likely has a great shot at the 6th Man of the Year award if he continues with his performances.
Apart from their three main stars, Andrew Wiggins, Andre Iguodala, and James Wiseman were also rested. After their tough loss against the Boston Celtics in overtime yesterday, the Warriors decided to rest all their main stars. Though fans thought this might be a huge problem considering their away record, it didn’t turn out like one in the end.?

Who has a better shot at the championship?
Both teams are in a similar position in their respective conferences. The Warriors have raised to the 6th seed with a 23-23 record, while the Cavs stand as the 5th seed with a 28-19 record. Keeping in mind the playoff experience of the Warriors, the path might get easier if the team gets a comfortable spot in the top 8.
