Stephen Curry has entered into hallowed grounds because of the Warriors achieving their sixth final in the past eight years. He has become one of the few players who have entered more than five NBA finals. The number six is also attached to another player: the great Michael Jordan. He, too, had six final appearances in 13 seasons, the same as Curry.

Both have had varying levels of success though in those finals. But this commonality does say something about Curry and his achievements. He has taken an obviously middling franchise to glory and global fame. Today, there are Dub Nation fans everywhere in the country and beyond.

Nonetheless, Jordan had a higher success rate in his Finals appearances (Literally 100%). He won each of his Finals and won the Finals MVP six times, which meant that he lead the team from the front to make them win six times. This includes two three-peats. One was from 1991-93 and the 2nd one was from 1996-98. It was a dynasty like no other.

These are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:

Stephen Curry in the NBA Finals

Curry, meanwhile, may feel unlucky, in that regard. The 2015 Finals surely should have had Curry being the Finals MVP, but due to his first two games, he lost it to fellow teammate Andre Iguodala. The 2017 and 2018 Finals had Kevin Durant being their main scorer, which led to him winning the Finals MVP those years.

Curry, also, lost two Finals. One was in 2016, when the Warriors had an epic meltdown after leading 3-1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James, then, decided to show why he is one of the greatest players of all time. He literally reversed the lead and made the Cavaliers win 4-3.

An epic high for James and an epic low for Curry. Their next loss was in their most recent Finals appearance against the Toronto Raptors. Kawhi Leonard decided to show up and average 28.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 6 games. Leonard became a 2-time Finals MVP, while Curry was left to lick his wounds.

In the last three years, the Warriors have struggled. They had their worst year in 2020. 2021 was slightly better, but in 2022, with the availability of Klay, the Warriors team started to show their real colors again.
