It was just this past week, that Ben Simmons made the news for his viral airball video. The Brooklyn Nets’ player has been in the constant spotlight for all his apparent shortcomings, and Simmons is just not having it. According to him, there were at least ten people who air-balled many a time, but everyone chose to focus on him. It is pretty clear that he wants to change the narrative and possibly shift the focus currently fixed on him.

In his recent interview with ESPN, Simmons was asked what his response was to the airball video when there are people who believe that the player can’t shoot. Simmons said that fans will talk no matter what happens – if he makes a shot or if he doesn’t make a shot. He said he can’t make everyone happy.

“That’s like saying can Giannis [Antetokounmpo] can’t shoot? Can he?”?Simmons said. “Is it not taking as many shots as people want me to? Is it not hitting every shot? Fans are always going to say something,”?he added.

However, his comments on the Milwaukee Bucks’ player did not go down well with the fans.

Instead of training and improving on himself, and being accountable for the way he plays, many fans were surprised that Simmons seemingly dragged Antetokounmpo under the bus to justify his own shortcomings.

The ESPN interviewer also mentioned to Ben Simmons that the Milwaukee Bucks superstar’s shot is better of late. Simmons casually agreed, but again quickly talked about how it is not possible to make every shot.

Stephen Curry’s incredible shooting talent has undoubtedly become aspirational for younger generations. If a player has a great day on the court with a three-point shooting spree, they are almost immediately compared to ‘Stephen Curry’. Andre Drummond was said to have “gone full Stephen Curry” on the court.
