One story recently narrated by a former NFL player confirms that the six-time champion enjoyed a wager with ex-NBA veteran Jamal Crawford. In his latest monologue shared on his YouTube channel, Wiley started by saying, “Let’s talk about Jamal Crawford who challenged Michael Jordan to a three-point shootout for $1,000…So, Jordan won and then he was like dawg, quote – ‘thousand dollars is for babies,’ and upped the amount to five G’s.”

The NFL star continued, “And this time Jamal won. Michael Jordan then asked Jamal, ‘What car did you drive up here with?’ Jamal replied, ‘A Mercedes'”?

The story went on, “He [Crawford] said, ‘I got a Benz outside’…Jordan said, ‘I came with a Ferrari…Let’s bet our cars.'” Crawford agreed, at which Wiley expressed his surprise, make-believe warning Crawford not to go ahead against the ‘Basketball and Gambling GOAT’ and advising him to ‘run’!

He narrated further, “Jordan went five for five, removed Crawford’s personalized license plate…took it off and left with his Benz. Took that dude’s Benz! Off of what? A three-point shooting contest they had? That’s crazy man!”

Crawford debuted at a time when Jordan was at the end of his career, playing with the Washington Wizards. They soon became friends and used to often play pickup games. The bet between them probably took place when they were playing together. Wiley emphasized the fact that the former Clippers player Crawford defeated MJ when the bet was $5000. However, six-time champion Jordan showcased who he truly was when both of their cars were on the line.

Wiley gives his opinion on betting and Jordan.

The former NFL veteran revealed what he thinks about gambling after sharing the betting story. He also referred to Crawford as someone probably like himself who is not a gambling-person when Crawford suggested that the stakes be a thousand dollars in the story, a relatively small amount.

Wiley said, “[I’m] not a gambling man but I ain’t no punk either. I’m competitive and I think that’s what gambling is – competing…While you’re winning…if you betting smart, you can come up – just like Jordan. He did lose once, but he knew what to bet…Gambling is like this potent – I mean, intoxicating cocktail of certainty and chaos. I wouldn’t be so certain about the certainty but people are.”
