For the rookies in the NBA, it’s nothing short of a blessing if they can test themselves against the very best. This moment came early in the career of Cavaliers’ Collin Sexton, who could weigh himself on the scale of Warriors’ Steph Curry.
Collin entered the league in 2018 after the Cavs picked him #8 in the draft. Unfortunately for the new entrant, he missed an opportunity to play alongside LeBron James. But as it appeared later, he made it up by playing against the biggies and taking home some priceless lessons.

When Steph Curry grilled Collin Sexton
From 2014 till 2018, for four straight years, the GSW and the Cavs remained the greatest of the NBA rivals. So after winning their third NBA title in 2018, the Warriors wanted to continue domination over the Cavs.
On December 5th, the two sides met again, and the result stood the same. The Dubs Nation won the game 129-105 in a night when Steph Curry scored the exact double (42) of Collin Sexton (21).
As the 3x Champion dropped nine three-pointers in his 11/20 show, a 20-YO Collin witnessed magic. After the game, the rookie had then said, “He’s just another player who is really good and a good guard in the league.”
But three years down the line, he has learned to acknowledge greatness. As he recently reminisced during an interview with Jaron Blossomgame, “I remember a few games. I think I was playing Warriors or something. It was just like a bad game, it was like you get cooked out there… There ain’t nothing you can do.”

Head-to-head, Steph Curry has won all of the four meetings against Collin Sexton in the last three seasons. However, that tells just half the story. This, because Collin has also been exceptional against his possible idol.

In those four outings, the Cavaliers star has averaged a crazy 25.3 points, 3.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals, while shooting at 50% from the three-point line.
Now those numbers prove that Collin, with a better team around him, can prove tough for Steph. This also meant that the Marietta-born registered better numbers against GSW than his career-high average of 24.3 that came last season.
