The “Point God”, Chris Paul, has followed in the footsteps of the Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant. CP3 has now written a children’s book of his own called “Basketball Dreams”. It’s about how his grandfather helped him in achieving his dreams of playing basketball. Chris looked to his grandpa Papa Chilly as a model for the virtues he could embody in both basketball and life.

As the first Black business owner of a service station in North Carolina, his grandfather taught him about respect, faith, kindness, generosity, and the will to achieve. He served as Chris’s source of motivation. His lessons helped Chris develop into the famous NBA player—and individual—he is today. Chris Paul had already released a book named, “Long Shot: Never Too Small to Dream Big” before this.

Kobe Bryant too, as said above, wrote children’s books. Bryant’s first book was “Wizenard Series Training Camp”. The story was about the West Bottom Badgers, the worst youth basketball team in the league. They turn things around with their coach and some magic. His media company posthumously published “The Wizenard Series: Season One”.

Kobe Bryant and CP3 aren’t the only NBA stars to write children’s books

There have been many other players who wrote children’s books. NBA stars are very popular with the young ‘uns. Hence, it led to a huge boost in sales.

NBA legend Dennis Rodman wrote, “Dennis the Wild Bull”. A bull named Dennis is the subject of the tale. The bull is rounded up for the rodeo but manages to get away. At the rodeo, he makes friends with two more bulls—a Mexican and a white bull—and brings them home with him. The book demonstrates that it is “OK to be different,” according to Rodman.
