His addition to the Suns’ roster was very important, and he is currently one of the best young stars in the league. With just 6 years of experience in the league, he has already made an impact on the sport by putting up exceptional scoring performances.

The Phoenix Suns were stuck in a playoff drought for a long time. They did not make the playoffs for the entire last decade. However, this changed when they drafted young big man DeAndre Ayton and signed Chris Paul. Chris Paul and Monty Williams led the team to a playoff run that culminated in a finals appearance.

Their playoff run was fantastic. However, they lost against the Milwaukee Bucks. Many fans look at the recent success of the Suns as a by-product of the fluid play between Paul and Booker. Chris Paul’s brother spoke about this dynamic and lauded Devin Booker for his skill set.

“What we’re seeing right now is what we would have saw if Chris got the chance to play with Kobe [Bryant]. I feel like Dev [Booker] is the closest to Kobe that we have in this league, and I’m not trying to put pressure on him,” C.J. Paul told Yahoo Sports. “Chris is playing with a younger Kobe Bryant. Those two have the same mentality, both being dogs. We’re seeing a Chris and a younger Kobe.”

Devin Booker has always openly claimed that Kobe is one of his biggest idols. Moreover, Devin Booker has shaped most of his game just like Kobe. Booker led the Suns to a conference championship last season. This season he is leading his team into another championship run as the Suns sit atop in overall wins.

After the game, Kobe approached Devin and gave him a pair of Kobe 11s which were signed by him. Moreover, he wrote ‘be legendary’ on the shoes. A mantra that Booker holds dear to him.
