There have been many NBA stars who have shown promise and potential but never lived up to the hype. Michael Beasley is one of them. The Miami Heat drafted him as their 2nd overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft.
While he was potentially one of the players who was starting to settle in the NBA,?it might be his misfortune and off the court misbehavior that could not get him constant game time at the Heat.
It was not that he played badly, but the fact was that he almost always had a bad narrative around him. Unfortunately, not every Michael gets to become Michael Jordan.

His luck has changed because playing somewhere other than in the NBA is better than not playing at all. And that too if Beasley is going to get a massive paycheck for it. Michael Beasley is set to play in the Chinese Basketball Association. He has signed a seven-figure deal for the Shanghai Sharks. He will once again play professional basketball.

There were games when he dropped 30 points against some of the best defenders in the league at the time. His lesser game time was surely not because of any kind of lack of effort.
After no game time due to Covid in 2019, Mike had stopped featuring for any team in the NBA and it looked like his career had wrapped up, but things are looking up now and fans are happy for him.

NBA fans elated that Michael Beasley could become Chinese Michael Jordan
Michael Beasley was at times a fan favorite as well. People rated him highly because of his surges of good form at times. So it was good that he was back on the court even if it wasn?t in the NBA.?

I'm really glad that he's playing again! Should be in the NBA, imo, but better China than not playing…seeing Michael get hot and drop 30 on the best defenders in the league was as much fun as anything in basketball.

This dude could do everything. He didn't/doesn't fit into the status quo somehow, and Im not screaming injustice without info. In terms of basketball tho, he was a world-class talent.

Mike always had the potential to be one of the best scorers. But things became tougher for him off the court.

Michael Beasley?s off-court struggles started to affect his time on the court. One more reason for his instability proved to be LeBron James? decision to move to the Miami Heat. He had to settle into another team but that wasn?t easy.

After showing his good form at the Minnesota Timberwolves, unfortunately, he could never escape the off-court issues. In any other team as well, he could not flourish as he had hoped for.
However, this is a good chance to redeem himself and earn big money in China. Obviously, playing somewhere is way better than not playing at all.
