A contract with the Chicago Bulls is very close to being signed by free-agent guard Patrick Beverley. This confirmation came after the ex-Los Angeles Lakers star accepted a buyout from the Orlando Magic. It is expected that the deal will be finalized on Tuesday, according to several reports. The deal will be carried out for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Golden State Warriors seemed poised to sign Patrick Beverley, but it appears things have changed.

In his explanation of his decision to join the Bulls, the former Lakers star cited his close ties with his family as a reason to join the team. Notably, his family lives in Chicago. The journey of Patrick Beverley to the Chicago Bulls

In Beverley’s case, the year started with playing for the Lakers. Throughout his 45 games, he averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. The main purpose of bringing Beverley to the team was to strengthen the defense since this addition was expected to improve that area.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go according to plan, and the team averaged 2.1 points per 100 possessions. With a record of 25-30, the Lakers didn’t have much to offer after that. It was decided then to trade Beverley to the Magic in exchange for Mo Bamba.
