Michael Jordan and LeBron James are arguably the two greatest players to ever live. The debate on who is the greatest ever had raged on for a few years now, but it has increased a lot since LeBron won his last title. Many ex-players and fans have chosen who their GOAT is and one NBA legend is the latest to do so.

Charles Oakley is a former NBA player who was drafted in the 1985 draft. He played for 5 different teams, including the Bulls, but he was known was his stint with the New York Knicks. Oakley was part of the 93-94 Knicks team, which made it to the finals and lost to the Houston Rockets. He was known to be a defensive specialist, and he was one of the best rebounders in the power forward position.

Oakley was once a teammate of Michael Jordan and he is also from Cleveland, LeBron James’s home state. He has known LeBron since he came to this league and he is a friend of his. He is the latest ex-player who has chosen between the two generational icons.

Oakley was asked who he is gonna take first, Michael or LeBron. He answered, ” Um, I’m gonna have to take, Uh, I’m gonna take Michael Jordan.” Oakley hesitated before he answered and was asked why. He attested, “It’s a hard decision. I mean it’s A1 and A2. So you know I know Michael the longest and LeBron grew up around knowing him and got to be one of his friends”

This is a debate that has been going on for some time and it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be settled anytime soon. Oakley went with his gut, and he did appreciate the greatness of both the players and agreed that these two are a class above everyone.

LeBron and Jordan have had two very different career paths to reach this point. Jordan spent the majority of his career at one franchise and he was responsible for making the league global. LeBron has won every place that he has gone to and he is still not done in his 19th year. Both of them own some incredible records and have had some iconic moments throughout their careers. With LeBron going strong, the debate is expected to go on until the end of time.
