After a series of bad games and months of uncertainty, the Los Angeles Lakers finally secured a spot in the playoffs. Led by NBA superstar LeBron James, the Lakers went up against Minnesota Timberwolves during the play-in tournament on Tuesday night and claimed victory after going into overtime. Following the nerve-wracking face-off, basketball veteran Charles Barkley passed a blunt remark on the Wolves’ defeat during the post-game episode of Inside the NBA.

NBA player-turned-analyst Charles Barkley does not hold back when it comes to voicing his opinions. Therefore, when the Timberwolves lost to the Lakers in OT, the Hall of Famer did not hesitate from calling them out on their poor performance.

Shortly after the game concluded, NBA analyst Kenny Smith talked about the ‘lack of experience’ that the Minnesota Timberwolves players showed during the play-in game. However, fellow analysts Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley disagreed with the statement with the latter stating that ‘the Lakers didn’t win this game, the Wolves lost this game’.

The Suns veteran believed that the LeBron James-led Lakers didn’t put up a strong performance on the court but managed to win the game because the Wolves were ‘dumb’. He?said, “They didn’t deserve to win this game tonight. This is all about the Wolves choking this game away.”

As the discussion continued, Chuck chimed in and simply added, “In the words of the great Mike Wilbon, that Minnesota team dumb.”

Lakers defeat the Wolves for a spot in the playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers started off slow in the first half of the game but eventually caught up after halftime. However, after an intense fourth quarter, the game was sent to OT when Anthony Davis fouled Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley. The Lakers won the play-in tournament by 108-102 with LeBron James dropping a game-high 30 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

AD scored 24 points and 15 rebounds. Whereas, Dennis Schroeder finished with 21 points and four rebounds coming off the bench. The Lakers are currently the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the upcoming playoffs. Whereas, the Wolves will be given one last chance to secure a playoffs spot after the Pelicans vs OKC Thunder game.
