Cleanliness is important to Charles Barkley
In a podcast with Ernie Johnson, Barkley discussed his obsession with cleanliness and how it actually began. He recalled an incident from his childhood when his mom told him to clean the house before she left for work in the morning. He said:
“My mom was a maid. Every morning she left home, she said, Charles if this house is not clean when I get home, I’m gonna beat you“
Further, he said it was difficult for her to clean all these houses and return only to clean her own house. She was strict in this regard. Now, Barkley is well-known for his focus on cleanliness.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Scott Brooks described Barkley’s cleaning obsession. He recalls a particular incident when he had heard a strange noise. It turned out to be Barkley, vacuuming because the lines on the carpet were not straight.
Barkley confirmed this news later and said that he is a “clean fanatic“.
Moreover, Barkley was caught cleaning his phone on TNT in an unusual way. After this incident, Barkley received some WHOOSH! Screen Shine for cleaning.
