Charles Barkley is one of the best rebounders in the history of the NBA. He was well known for his versatility as he had the ability to score, create plays as well as defend. Charles was not the tallest but at 6’5 but his aggressiveness and eagerness in his game coupled with his strength and energy made him elite in his day. He used to be dominant with his rebounds, probably more than any other player ever.

Charles in his 16 years of career, played for 3 teams, namely Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, and Houston Rockets. The Hall of Famer led his Phoenix Suns side to the 1993 NBA finals only to lose it against Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls who completed their first three-peat. Charles won season MVP in 1993.

We all love the friendship between Chuck and Shaq. Witty banters, constant jokes, brilliant chemistry, and tremendous love and respect. We have loved their moments in The Inside NBA on TNT. Recently, Charles appeared on The Draymond Green Show and talked about Shaq.
Dray asked Chuck if in between jokes they go beyond a certain level to piss each other off.

Charles answered, “I hope I piss him off.” Chuck told Dray how Shaq does not understand that not everyone is blessed with his physique and that he doesn’t believe in tactics and strategies. So he often teases Chuck for not winning a championship whenever Chuck talks strategies.

In return, Barkley teases Shaq by telling him that he doesn’t know anything about basketball.
“It’s fun for me to rile him up. But I wish that he would sit back and says oh maybe there is a strategy. But we all live in our own existence. Like he is never like I need to have a strategy against Stanley Roberts, Dikembe Mutombo, Rik Smits, Patrick Ewing. Probably the only big guy who schooled him was probably Hakeem (Olajuwon). And once he became the full force he was pretty much unstoppable.” Chuck said about Shaq being the biggest and baddest dude. He said all this in relation to how Shaq was the biggest on the court, no matter who he played against.

Shaq never cared about strategies because of how good he was. But for people like Charles Barkley, the strategies and the techniques were a vital part of basketball to make the best of their games. At 6’5 Charles needed some ways to deal with people much taller than him. He used to plan before games, particular strategies according to whoever he played against. This was the reason he was considered so deadly on that court. Charles Barkley is one of the greats of his time and we will keep enjoying him and Shaq for years to come.
