The Boston Celtics were two games away from winning it all in the 2022 NBA Finals. They were up to two games, to one against the Golden State Warriors. Game four was scheduled in Boston, but the Warriors showed their experience and won three games to close out Boston. With not the perfect but a strong finish to the season, Celtics have been attracting some big names in the offseason and Kevin Durant is one of them.

When Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant submitted a trade request, the NBA landscape changed. Any contending team with Durant could be the favorite for NBA Championship. Reportedly, his two preferred choices are Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat. But it looks like that now the Boston Celtics may be ready to make a play or two in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes.

According to a recent report, Boston Celtics are now preparing a trade offer centering around All-Star Jaylen Brown for?Durant. Boston selected Jaylen as the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Jaylen is one of Boston’s two homegrown All-Star, the other being Jayson Tatum. Brown is a rare commodity in today’s NBA. A 25-year-old All-Star who can score at will and average more than twenty-five points a game while also defending the other team’s best player at a high level.

On the other hand, Kevin Durant is an even rarer commodity. A true franchise cornerstone who can single-handedly change the outcome of any series. It will be interesting to see whether the Boston Celtics actually pull the plug on this trade or not.
