The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t looked this alive since the 2016-17 NBA season when LeBron James led them. Just first weeks into the 2021-22 campaign, they have had a spectacular run that has helped them keep their record 8-5 and stand fourth in the Eastern Conference. And believe it or not, rookie Evan Mobley is responsible for this big turn-around, having just helped his side fold the Boston Celtics with a 91-89.

His gallant performances are giving the Cavaliers hopes that they will, once again, bring back the good old days they had with LeBron James.

Evan Mobley continues to help the Cavaliers secure wins

The 20-year-old was unfortunate to enter the league during a time there was just too much competition around the top picks. However, falling to the third spot worked out brilliantly for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who made the best choice in snapping Evan up. And they are now reaping the benefits of acquiring him.

In their latest matchup against the Boston Celtics, the Cavs started off very slow. In fact, the first quarter ended with a 9-20 score against them. However, they focused on rallying back in the rest of the game and did just that. Darius Garland led the way with 22 points, followed by Even Mobley who had 19 points under his name as well.

A few weeks into the new season, the Cavaliers are already looking like a playoff-contending team. They haven’t seen the entry gates of the postseason for four years now, and it looks like that drought might be coming to an end soon. Provided, they continue to play this way.

Even if not, the Cavs can be hopeful that Mobley’s presence is definitely going to be a big game-changer for them. His talent is something that isn’t going unnoticed, not even by other NBA coaches. This only means a lot of good is yet to come Cleveland’s way.
