Their back-and-forth continued, with Durant recently replying sarcastically to Diesel’s previous tweet. Consequently, fans chimed in with their take on the whole KD-Shaq dispute.

Following Rui Hachimura’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, 4x NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal said that if a player is not considered among the top 10 in the league, then he wouldn’t know who they are. Shaq’s comments made Kevin Durant question the NBA legend’s basketball knowledge as a joke. In response,?the 15X NBA All-Star took a dig?at the former Golden State Warriors by making the ‘bus driver’ comment and began their back-and-forth banter.

Shaq recently tweeted a photo containing a list of all his achievements, naming him the most dominant player ever. In the caption, the Big Aristotle wrote,?“who needs to know all, when you know how to ball? THEMOSTDOMINANTBALLER EVER.”
In response, Durant replied to the tweet with a compliment that read,?“Impressive resume Shaquille, im proud of you,”?although it sounded slightly sarcastic. Moreover, this ongoing Twitter feud soon gained fans’ attention prompting many to question Shaq’s legacy and his partnership with Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. Below are a few of the tweets.

But you’re an “analyst” Shaq. It’s your job to KNOW ball. You guys have low key disrespected a lot of good, hard-working NBA players because you guys don’t watch. Kenny and Ernie do their homework. Why can’t you and Charles?

People who are commentators for the NBA should probably know ball. We don’t tune into TNT to watch highlights from 25-30 years ago🤷🏾♂️.
— JDub44 (@JWILLI44) January 29, 2023
Shaq can’t say he don’t know who Rui is (or anyone who isn’t a top 10 player) then get upset when people say he doesn’t know ball.
— Brooklyn Netcast (@BrooklynNetcast) January 29, 2023
You made him so insecure that he had to go post a meme of his career accolades like he not already in the hall of fame.
— Bradley (@Bradley3977) January 29, 2023

What did Shaq mean by the ‘bus driver’ comment?
The bus driver comment was initially made by NBA analyst Charles Barkley while talking about the Golden State Warriors 2022 championship title and Kevin Durant’s move to the Brooklyn Nets. KD was heavily criticized for joining the Warriors, who already had a solid roster to win a championship. During an interview on ESPN’s “Get Up!” Barkley stated that Durant would never gain their respect until he led a team to victory.

“Before KD gets that great respect from all the old heads, he’s gonna have to win a championship as a bus driver. Listen, he join that team that already won a championship so…no disrespect, that’s just a fact. But until he is ‘the guy’ on his championship team, we’re not going to ever give him the respect that he probably deserves,” said Barkley.
