While their careers have been parallel and comparative all along, the two superstars are on the same team this year. It’s the apt time to run back at the incident when LeBron saved Carmelo’s life.
The two veterans James and Anthony were on a vacation in the Bahamas along with Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade. While enjoying one of their snorkeling experiences, Melo wasn’t able to get back to their ‘banana boat’. Not many believed Carmelo at first, but LeBron was ready to save him, eventually donning the ‘Aquaman’ stunt.

Carmelo Anthony reminisces the life-saving incident
In a conversation on the ‘All the Smoke’ podcast, star forward Carmelo Anthony cross-checked this story. He said – “My head is in the water, I’m snorkeling and I look up, everytime I look up the water, the boat is further and further away. I’m getting pushed by the current and I’m like [calling out], ‘Yo!’ Everybody’s looking at me like I’m joking and I’m like, ‘Yo, I need help.’ And I see Bron jump in the water…and I just see Bron, he’s like, ‘I got you champ,’ he grabbed me went back to the boat.”

Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James entered the NBA together in 2003. While competitiveness prevailed, their friendship grew stronger over the years. Seeing the duo on opposite ends of the court is always a treat. LeBron is a 4-time NBA champion and a 17-time All-star and Anthony made it to 10 All-star appearances.
